How to draw a pencil portrait - face painting

To draw a pencil portrait you need:

Concerning the first point you can esteem in our article "How to learn to draw".
Base proportions of a human face the such:
  •     distance from a chin to eyes = to distance from eyes to top (do not forget that over top is also a hairdress:)
  •     distance from a line of hair to eyebrows = to distance from eyebrows to a nose tip = to distance from a tip of a nose to a chin
  •  distance between eyes = to length of an eye
  •  width of a nose = to distance between eyes
  •  length of a mouth - to distance between pupils
  •  length of ears = to distance from eyebrows to a mouth line
  •  in a profile расстояни from level глах to a chin = to distance from an external corner of an eye till the end of an ear.
Above it was a question of classical face proportions of the adult person.
Most often meeting errors in a portrait are connected with non-observance of the proportions set forth above:
  • the truncated skull
  • too big eyes
  • too small nose
  • too small mouth
  • too thin neck
  • too small ears
But let's remember that each of us is individual, and to draw a similar portrait - means to notice and reproduce in a portrait small deviations from classical proportions. And what then such a cartoon? And this small exaggeration of these deviations, visual accent on them.
When draw a portrait, pay attention to such details of model:
  • tips of lips are inclined upwards or downwards
  • what lip is wider
  • external or internal corners of eyes above
  • the form of the person and a cheekbone
  • very in detail work spin hair round the person
And now draw that you see. Draw and draw. And you will notice, how Vyshi portraits will become more and more similar to model!
